Symptoms of ADHD
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurological condition that affects both children and adults. The symptoms of ADHD can be classified into two categories: inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity.
Inattention symptoms may include:
Difficulty paying attention to details or making careless mistakes in schoolwork or other activities
Difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or activities
Being forgetful in daily activities
Avoiding or disliking tasks that require sustained mental effort
Difficulty organizing tasks and activities
Frequently losing items like keys, phones, or wallets
Hyperactivity and impulsivity symptoms may include:
Difficulty sitting still or remaining quiet for extended periods
Fidgeting or squirming while seated
Interrupting others or blurting out answers before questions are completed
Difficulty waiting for one's turn
Talking excessively or being unable to engage in quiet activities
It's important to note that everyone may experience some of these symptoms at some point in their lives. However, for a diagnosis of ADHD, these symptoms must be persistent and significantly interfere with daily functioning.
